SEAGULL SOUNDINGS DECEMBER 2004

CRIME WATCH: Crime watch still needs one person to act as a base operator about one night (9 PM to I I PM) per week. We will furnish the radio and if needed, we can have someone install the radio and show you how to operate it. Please help! Call Ron Schmitz at 314-3992.

REMEMBER SOCIAL CLUB MEETING TUESDAY,
DECEMBER 7th at 7:00 PM

TRAVEL NEWS: Are you tired of traveling to the same place? Trips to China, Tibet, Hong Kong and the Canadian Rockies are available. Information is in the folder in the clubhouse.

Day Trips to Hard Rock Cafe, Sterling Casino, Sun Cruise Casino, Cedar Key, Tampa Downs and the Dixie Stampede are posted on the Travel Board.

Call Mary K at 365-1131 for more information.

WELCOME: We would like to say welcome to our new homeowners and hope to see you soon at some of the many activities coming up. Ed and Deborah Lubinville are at 65 Wintergreen. Albert and Garnet Wenzel are at 2 Clubhouse. James and "Renee" Buck are at 46 Wintergreen. Chuck and Darlene Powell are at 11 Lakeview Drive. Ron Schofield is at 77 Lake Griffin. Also we would like to advise that Jan and Audrey Agnew are moving from 3 Clubhouse Drive to 56 Eden Drive.

The Good Sams Club would appreciate your cooperation when we have a funeral meal to prepare. A notice announcing the arrangements for services, fellowship and meals will be posted in the Clubhouse on the bulletin board as soon as we have the information to pass onto the park residents. Please use the sign up sheets. We must know the number of people who plan to attend said ftmction. We can then be prepared to make the fellowship memory more comfortable for the bereaved.

FYI: If you like Italian food at a reasonable price, try the new restaurant PAPA LEO'S, located in the Leesburg Square Plaza (the one next to Walmarts). They are open until 9:00 PM Monday thru Saturday. For $4.95, you can have spaghetti with meatballs, a salad and garlic rolls. The salad is more than just lettuce and a slice of tomato and the garlic rolls are fresh baked and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They also serve pizza, other salads and hot or cold sub sandwiches. The sandwiches are $4.50. This has been a favorite eating place for us for many years. They were previously called Take-Two Pizza and Taormina.

LAKESIDE TERRACE THANKSGIVING DINNER

Residents of Lakeside Terrace enjoyed a lovely family style Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, November 18, 2004 in the Clubhouse. Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Cranberry Sauce and Rolls and Butter were provided for the residents by Hometown America.
Lakeside Terrace residents turned the clubhouse into a warm lovely family dining room with their tables decorated and set for the thanksgiving feast.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped to make our family style thanksgiving dinner possible. Thanks and applause to Nancy Vollmer (our wonderful chef), Ron & Lee Hayden, Francis Cox, Edd & Carole Kolbe, Dorothy Thompson, Wally & Patty Voelker, and last but not never least, Rich Aniol.
A special thanks to those wonderful gentlemen who set the room up on Saturday morning and provided us with great entertainment at the same time, Rich Aniol, Wally Voelker, Doug Rice, Mr. Bird, Richard Bryd, Carl Wood, Edd Kolbe and if by chance I have forgotten anyone I apologize. A huge pat on the back to Lee Hayden for her brilliant idea on serving, I'm sure it was greatly appreciated not only by the committee, but everyone in the room as well.

                                                           Thanks to All
                                                         Peg Aniol

FYI: Be reminded that Michele Lennon, RN will be taking blood pressures in the Clubhouse on Tuesday Mornings from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Everyone is welcome.

Do You Enjoy Playing Bridge? We are organizing our bridge tables for the coming months. Come and enjoy a pleasant enjoyable evening of bridge at the Clubhouse on Tuesday evenings, starting at 7 PM. For information contact Lucile Hurley at 787-8993.

CHRISTIAN WOMEN'S CLUB

You are invited to attend the Leesburg & Tri-Cities Christian Women's Club Luncheon on Thursday, December 16th. The speaker will be the Director of Lake County Extension Services. MEDICARE PRESCRIPTION CARDS

Do you qualify for one of the Medicare Prescription cards with the $600 allowance for drugs? If your monthly income is no more than                                                                                    $1,048 for a single person or                                                                                                  $1,406 for a married couple
You need to apply for the card immediately so that you qualify for the 2004 allowance and then you will get the $600 for 2005 also. The allowance that is not used up in 2004 will rollover to 2005 which gives you almost $1,200 to be used for drug purchases in 2005. If you have any questions contact Lucile Hurley at 787-8993 or Hur1gyLC&Jsp.com. "This what I did, on a volunteer basis, all summer for the people up in southwestern Virginia." The process is simple, just give me a call. It's a shame to let that money go back to Medicare when you are entitled to receive it.

Viv and I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving and will have a Merry Christmas, no matter where you may be.

FL STATUTE 723.078 Bylaws of Homeowners Associations: (C)

Meetings of the Board of Directors shall be open to all members, and notice of meetings shall be posted in a conspicuous place upon the park property at least 48 hours in advance, except in an emergency.

Quote.... from letter from Community Director, June 3,2002: "A meeting was held on Tuesday, May 1,0' with the Lakeside Terrace Homeowners Board, Judy Loundsberry, Regional Director for Chateau Communities and myself. One of the topics at the meeting was the fact that the residents are not following the rules and regulations."

Quote.... from Jody B. Gabel, Attorney for Chateau Properties March 11, 2003: re: rule enforcement "The notice regarding rule enforcement was issued at the prompting of the Lakeside Terrace Homeowners Association Board. Since the change of ownership of the community in July 2001, the new owner is ensuring compliance with community rules and regulations after appropriate notice is provided to the residents."

(Please notice the outright LIE in this last sentence as regard to compliance)

The above provides evidence that the Board of Directors did hold a secret meeting with the park owners representatives on May 14, 2002. Under the "guise" of a workshop, they conducted business that was detrimental to many residents of this community. In their attempt at secrecy, the Board of Directors also failed to record any MINUTES of this meeting.

The residents of this community deserve better than this. If you think it may be time to contact outside agencies to protect our rights, as I do, your feedback and comments will be appreciated.
                                                               Respectfully submitted, Keith Park
